Nurturing strong bonds and delivering an outstanding customer experience is the hallmark of any food ordering and delivery services. Thus, keeping the customers at the heart of its business ecosystem, Delivery Hero is on a mission to establish itself as one of the world’s leading local delivery platforms. Powered by an extensive global ecosystem of riders, restaurants, shops, and partners, the company facilitates the delivery of a wide range of products— right from prepared meals and groceries to flowers, coffee, medicine, and beyond— straight to a customer’s door.

Setting new standards for the delivery industry, the company considers quick commerce as the most ingenious solution to changing customer behavior. A key part of its quick commerce operations are Dmarts: delivery-only supermarkets that are optimized for fast delivery. This allows the company to deliver to customers within 15 minutes or less. Moreover, Deliver Hero is always exploring the frontiers of delivery, and that includes testing new delivery vehicles.

Over the recent past, the company has delivered food with a varying level of adventure, including pilotless helicopters, drone, and more recently robots, that delivered products in an extremely short span of time.
Aside from food delivery and quick commerce operations, Delivery Hero is always exploring new ideas and spaces within the delivery industry. That’s how it started its own cloud kitchen spaces. These spaces can host multiple restaurant concepts in one place, enabling the company to explore a new approach to food delivery. In these facilities, rather than serving customers and preparing food to be delivered at the same time, restaurants have the space to prepare meals specifically for delivery – called favourites. Delivery Hero can host several restaurants within one place; and that way, the restaurants all operate their own kitchens but share parts of the infrastructure and use synergies for logistics. The focus is really on the food and its preparation, guaranteeing a lower delivery time and a higher quality of dishes. Hence, these delivery-optimized kitchens are not only a win for customers, but also for restaurant partners: They get an opportunity to expand their business to new areas acquire new customers and increase revenues.
  • Delivery Hero has established itself as one of the world’s leading local delivery platforms.

What’s more, as one of the fastest-growing global online food ordering and delivery marketplaces, Delivery hero is also setting an ambitious goal to be carbon neutral globally by the end of 2021.

Having started this journey by making its Berlin headquarters carbon neutral in 2019, the company achieved carbon neutrality in its European operations in 2020, and since January 2021, they have been advocating carbon neutral initiatives in its Latin American operations as well. Further, the company is also including the carbon footprint of groceries products sold by their Dmarts and the deliveries emissions generated from delivery executives, and accordingly set sustainability standards.

Given these standalone functionalities and eco-friendly business stance, it must not be difficult to imagine why Delivery Hero is present in around 50 countries across four continents. Today, the company has more than 27,000 employees. Finally, riding on the back of global recognition and milestones of notable achievements, Delivery Hero is all set to provide the best experience to customers, wherever they are.
