In tune with the evolving demands of the food industry, VEGA has recently launched two new compact instrument series for hygienic processes: VEGABAR pressure sensors and VEGAPOINT level switches. These new measuring instruments are designed to enable unparalleled reliability, flexibility, and accuracy in the food and pharmaceutical production processes.
The VEGABAR pressure sensors are available with a traditional metallic measuring cell or an abrasion-resistant ceramic cell. The ceramic cell can detect fractional changes in hydrostatic pressure, and unlike traditional metallic diaphragms, these instruments do not drift over time. Moreover, the new pressure sensors and point level switches all have a unique 360-degree switching status display that helps ensure safety and process reliability. And lastly, these sensors use a universal hygienic adapter system that gives customers the flexibility needed to keep installation and parts inventory costs low.

At the same time, VEGA also introduced new 80 GHz radar sensors to its VEGAPULS series. These new devices have a precise focus that virtually eliminates any unwanted or interfering reflections and makes level measurement much easier and more reliable. Unlike ultrasonic transmitters, these radar sensors are unaffected by temperature fluctuations, vacuum conditions, high pressures, and they are insensitive to buildup or condensation. These new instruments are ideal for both liquids and bulk solids.
To provide a deeper understanding of VEGA’s level and pressure instrumentation, Kline recalls a case in point where a manufacturing client was looking to optimize and maximize the storage capacity within their storage tanks. The leveling device they were using did not provide them with accurate readings. “With our 80 GHz radar level technology, the client was able to precisely view and improve the storage capabilities of their tanks. They could also process and produce more, increase their throughput, and, enhance their manufacturing process,” informs Kline.
